The Vancouver Canucks have recalled Ty Mueller from their AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, as the team looks to evaluate young talent late in the season.
General manager Patrik Allvin announced the move with nine games remaining in the NHL campaign.
The 22-year-old scored 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points in 59 games, finishing second at Abbotsford behind Nils Aman.
His role has steadily grown since his rookie season, in which he scored 39 points in 64 games and was named the team representative to the 2025 AHL All-Star Game.
Coaches have relied on him in all situations, including power play and penalty kill duties.
Mueller also played a key role in Abbotsford’s Calder Cup-winning run, registering 12 points in 24 playoff games.
The Edmonton native has limited NHL experience thus far. He played in two games last season and was still looking for his first point at that level.
This move marks a shift in direction of development as the club prepares for the future.
