Daniel Radcliffe has opened up about his personal journey!
Speaking at a post-show panel for his Broadway play Every brilliant thingthe Harry Potter star admitted that his younger self wouldn’t have recognized the man he has become.
Looking back on his past, Daniel also shared the experience of being ‘deeply unhappy’ in his younger years.
He said: “There have been times in my life when I have been deeply unhappy, especially when I was much younger.”
“I spent today with my 3-year-old son walking down the street, holding my hand and being wonderful, fun and crazy – and I’m so happy,” Daniel added.
He commented, “If you had shown them to me when I was twenty, I wouldn’t have recognized myself.”
Like the play Every brilliant thing revolves around depression and mental health issues, the actor said: “There is so much potential for profound happiness in the future, even if it isn’t where you are now. It’s always worth giving the future a chance to prove you wrong.”
Additionally, Daniel noted that the show is “the most profound, meaningful” he has ever done.
“The chance to connect with people about it [mental health] is really rare. Being a performer on this show gives you such an amazing insight into how brilliant and kind people can be,” he added.
Daniel Radcliffe made his acting debut at the age of ten in a two-part adaptation of David Copperfield in 1999. He rose to fame with his iconic role of Harry Potter in the franchise.
