Charlize Theron wishes she could reshoot the first three weeks of every project.
Despite having an Oscar for Best Actress to her name, the Sample star believes it takes three weeks of filming before she can really find her feet with each character at the start of each production.
“I wish I could reshoot the first three weeks of every movie I make,” she confessed in an interview with The New York Timesbefore explaining that she is in her head too much for the first three weeks.
Theron continued, “I feel like the first three weeks I’m scared, still thinking, overthinking.”
“I do it and it passes, but I’m not in that flow… That moment where you’re not thinking about anything, you’re just in it,” she further explained.
That’s why the South African actress, who also produces her projects, tries to ensure that there are no big dramatic scenes or emotionally heavy sequences on the shooting schedule for the first three weeks.
“Yeah, three weeks, that’s usually (how long does it take), so I try to shoot stupid stuff for as long as possible. Then you have to put on your big girl panties and do it,” Theron said.
Charlize Theron recently promoted her survival thriller Topin which she plays an American adventurer hunted by a serial killer in the Australian wilderness. The film, starring Taron Egerton, is now available on Netflix.
She will also be seen in Christopher Nolan’s epic The Odyssey in July, and is currently filming the thriller Tyrant alongside Julia Garner and Hudson Williams.
