According to a recent report from People, The 44-year-old pop singer’s sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston, played a “huge role” in convincing their mother to seek treatment at a facility following her recent DUI arrest.

A source told the newspaper: “She was very upset and shocked after her arrest. And she is terrified of going to jail. It has taken weeks for her to realize that going to rehab is the best option.”

“Her team has been pushing for treatment since her arrest,” the insider said.

“The people around her care about her very much and try to support her all the time, but it can be difficult. There have been a lot of concerns since the arrest.”

Additionally, the tattler shared that Spears’ two sons, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline, want their pop star mom to be “healthy.”

“Her sons were a big part of her going to rehab. They have clearly been against her. They just want her to be healthy,” the bird chirped.

On April 12, Spears’ spokesperson confirmed that she had voluntarily checked herself into rehab after being arrested in California for drunken driving in March.

She spent one night in custody and was released the next morning.

Her representative said in a statement at the time that the “unfortunate incident” was “completely inexcusable.”

The spokesperson continued: “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in a long overdue change that needs to happen in Britney’s life. Hopefully she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
