The boys of BTS became an international sensation many moons ago with Butter, but now that their group’s return is already underway, with a new album and new music, they’re finally opening up about things like “hate.”
This whole conversation happened at the same time Rolling Stone, Great Britain and saw RM open up first, as he immediately said, “There really are people just praying in their houses. ‘Please, BTS, just go fall down. Just break apart and collapse.’ So we’re thinking, ‘Okay guys, for two, three years we’ve been apart… and three years have passed, and there are armies waiting for us, the world waiting for us, so you had a little fun.’
As for their reasons for coming back as a team, he shared an alternative reason, admitting, “I told the members, ‘If we don’t challenge anymore, then I don’t think there’s a reason to keep doing this as a team.’ We have to show the world that we are still working and still discovering. It’s so complicated sometimes. But still, I think we have to push it even further, even more, and that’s still not enough.”
Even J-Hope interjected at one point and talked about why they just ‘work’ as a team before adding, “Now that we’re back together, the other members fill in the gaps I feel in my expression and in my performance. In many ways, I realized that was why there were seven of us.”
For those who don’t know what fans can expect from the upcoming album titled Arirang, it contains 14 songs, and the press release even claims that “the album is full of honest stories that BTS wants to share with ARMY, who as an entire group have been waiting for their PM comeback. Filled with the music most true to BTS, the album is their heartfelt way of thanking ARMY, who have been there all along.”
