Today presenter Sheinelle Jones has reflected on her past year, which was marked by deep sadness and personal triumph.
As fans will know, Jones’ husband, Uche Ojeh, passed away in May 2025 after battling brain cancer.
In a new conversation with We weeklythe host opened up about navigating loss after her sudden loss during a speech at the launch event for her Through Mom’s Eyes book at Double Knot NYC.
“Everyone knows this year has been a lot for me,” began Jones, who shares three children with her husband.
She added: “It was an emotional rollercoaster.”
For those unfamiliar, Jones and Ojeh met in college and were married for 18 years.
She has also pointed out that the focus for her now is on showing her children that strength and sadness can coexist.
“I would like them to see me as resilient and strong,” Jones told the outlet while promoting her new book called Through Mom’s Eyes in 2020.
She also shared: “[Matthew McConaughey’s mom] Kay McConaughey told me never to lose my humor.”
“And so I want them to know that today we have to hold on to two things: We are grieving, but their father pushed their mother to write this book, and mother kept her promise, and here we are.”
