Barry Keoghan is the father of Brando, his only child, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Alyson Sandro.
But in his latest interview, he expressed his frustration with the “perfect father” image common in society.
The Batman actor says his way of expressing love may be different, but it is what it is.
”It’s quite nice not to play the traditional father [challenge] the fathers that people often have a version of that doesn’t always exist – fathers and mothers,” Keoghan tells THR.
However, over time, the actor shares that he has learned to express parental love in his own way.
He says this is better for replicating traditional family parenting, which is what most people expect.
“But it’s okay to be you as a dad, and I’ve learned that by being myself,” the Saltburn star adds.
“This is how I do it, and this is how I show love,” the actor continues.
Keoghan surpasses polished Hollywood father figures and says he has embraced his flawed father role.
“And it may not be the way that we’ve all seen, or that we’re all used to, but this is how I show emotion, and I tell the truth. So that’s what I wanted to lean towards,” he concludes.
