Barbra Streisand may avoid singing forever after the backlash at the Oscars

Barbra Streisand has retired from public life!

Following criticism over her emotional tribute to Robert Redford at this year’s Academy Awards, insiders claim the legendary singer and actress is deeply shaken.

The reaction to the Oscars has affected Streisand so much that she may not go to the Cannes Film Festival, where she will reportedly receive an honorary award.

A source said Radaronline, “At this point no one knows if she will go.”

And even if she does, the source says, “Don’t expect her to sing again. The reaction to her Oscar performance shocked her deeply.”

Additionally, the source claims that Barbra Streisand has retreated from the spotlight in the wake of the backlash. They said, “When Barbra feels hurt, she disappears.”

“She retreats, regroups and shuts out the world,” the insider added.

This comes as Streisand paid a ‘moving’ tribute to Robert Redford at the 2026 Oscars In Memoriam, where she sang As we were.

The singer’s performance marked her first appearance at the Oscars since 2013. However, she was criticized for her vocal performance.
