Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up about his future plans regarding his professional career after Al Nassr secured victory against Al Ahli on Wednesday.
With this important win, Ronaldo also scored his 970th goal of the match, bringing Al Nassr closer to the Saudi Pro League title.
In a post-match interview, Portuguese footballers admitted that the end of his career is fast approaching, but he is still enjoying this competitive gaming landscape.
“The end of my career is approaching. Let’s enjoy every match,” said the Al Nassr captain.
“My career has been brilliant and I want it to continue. I’m still enjoying it, I’m still scoring goals. But above all it’s about winning. And we really want to win the league,” Ronaldo added.
“I will continue to play, not only for this generation, but also for the previous one and the one to come. I enjoy it day in day out, match after match, year after year, even as I approach the end of my career. That is a fact.”
However, he did not reveal the final timeline regarding his professional career.
During the interview, Ronaldo also hit back at the criticism the Saudi Pro League received based on various allegations such as favoritism to Ronaldo’s team.
“I think this is not good for the competition. Everyone is complaining. This is football, this is not a war. We know we have to fight, everyone wants to win. But not everything is allowed.”
“I’m going to speak at the end of the season because I’ve seen a lot of bad things,” he added.
Ronaldo is also determined to help Al Nassr win their first title since 2019.
