Billy Idol will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 American Music Awards (AMAs).
Producers from CBS and Dick Clark Productions (DCP) announced that the English rock singer will receive the prestigious award during the annual ceremony at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25.
“Billy Idol is recognized for his incomparable career and body of work, unparalleled contributions to music and continued influence on generations of artists and fans,” they praised. “For nearly fifty years, Idol has been one of the defining faces and voices of rock and roll.”
The 70-year-old Idol will also perform a medley of some of his biggest hits during the spectacle, which will mark his first time on the AMA stage since his 2004 presentation and his first ever AMA appearance.
Previous recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award include Diana Ross and Rod Stewart.
In addition, the show will feature performances by International Artist Award of Excellence winner Karol G, Hootie & the Blowfish, KATSEYE, Keith Urban, Maluma, Riley Green, SOMBR, Teddy Swims, Teyana Taylor and Twenty One Pilots.
It is also pertinent to mention that Taylor Swift will dominate the AMAs after securing eight nominations at the AMAs.
