Ridley Scott thought about the changing dynamics of the film industry and how it has lost its impact.
Ridley is known for the directing of highly acclaimed films such as Gladiator And Kingdom of Heaven.
During his appearance at the British Film Institute on Sunday, he spoke to the audience about how the filmmaking has lost its glow nowadays.
According to MetroIn conversation with his son, Luke Scott, the Napoleon filmmaker said: “The amount of films that today, literally worldwide, millions. No thousands, millions … and most is SH-T.”
“I think many films are stored today and are made more expensive by digital effects, because what they don’t have is a great thing on paper at first,” he explained. “Get it on paper!”
Elsewhere during the discussion, the Alien Director was asked if he has a “comfort film” that he would like to visit again.
“Well, actually I think mediocrity – we drown in mediocrity,” Scott replied. “And so what I do, it’s a terrible thing, but I went to watch my own films, and actually they are pretty good! And too, they get older.”

Although he criticizes the modern film style, Ridley acknowledges the people who occasionally make a good film: “It is like a relief that there is someone who is doing a good film.”
In the meantime, Ridley confirmed that he has completed his next project, the post-apocalyptic SCI-Fi film, The dog stars, with Jacob Elordi, and started writing a third Gladiator.
