Travis Kelce is not like other Swifties: he gets to listen to Taylor Swift play all the songs live for him and that is certainly a different experience.
The 35-year-old NFL star revealed his first reaction to hearing The Life of a Showgirl when it wasn’t yet released.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end said it was a “different feeling” to have the pop superstar, 35, in the room with him as he listened to the new album, during the Oct. 8 episode of New heights podcast with Jason Kelce.
“I assume you listened to it while Taylor was in the room with you?” Jason, 37, asked, adding, “Does it feel weird when an artist is in the same room with you and you listen to the lyrics?”
The Happy Gilmore 2 star responded, “It’s definitely a different feeling, but I quickly got used to it… I just listen to it with all my heart because it’s her creation, you just want to appreciate it for what it is, you know? And I think that’s the most important thing to make sure that the person you’re in the room with knows that you’re open to what they’re creating.”
Travis enthusiastically added that it was especially endearing to hear the Grammy winner’s songs about their relationship.
“It was nice to hear these all come together, knowing that some of them were – as she said – about our lives together,” he noted.
Speaking of fans’ reaction, Travis added, “It was just fun to see everyone portraying them and all the videos online and people dancing and smiling and having fun with it.”
Travis cheered her fiancé on and said, “Let’s give it up quickly for Taylor. She did it again. She turned the world upside down.’
Jason also teased Travis by asking his opinion on some of the explicit lyrics about him on the album, but the star athlete played coy, responding that “every song she references me in” is special.
