Chris Hemsworth recently shared his story about taking an in-depth journey with his beloved father Craig Hemsworth across Australia.
The Thor star takes a trip down memory lane to their old family home in Australia’s Northern Territory in a new trailer for an upcoming National Geographic documentary, Chris Hemsworth: A Road Trip to Remember.
In the clip, both Chris and his father are seen enjoying all those moments as they go on a road trip together after the actor learned about his father, who has been diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer’s.
“I want to do everything I can to help him,” says the 42-year-old.
Chris notes that this experience “could help fight the disease” as “different places immediately bring those memories to life.”
The actor shares that he “finds” that he wants to “spend more time” with his father.
Chris adds that the trip is all about ‘connection’.
Looking back on his road trip with his father, the Extraction actor writes in the caption: “My father and I had always talked about taking a trip back to the Northern Territory where our family had lived years ago.”
“But we could never have made the time to actually do it,” Chris continues.
The Avengers star adds, “Recently the idea of taking that road trip came up again with more pressing importance.”
“The result was a more profound, moving and surprising journey than I ever expected,” he concludes.
