Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo recently faced online backlash following their ongoing Wicked press tour
The stars were asked to describe each other’s ‘auras’ at the Wicked: For Good premiere in Paris last weekend.
Ariana revealed that Cynthina was “yellow like the sun” and even said that “there’s purple too.”
Cynthia described the singer and actress as “like a ciel blue, you know? Like aqua. And like sunset orange.”
After the viral red carpet moment, one user on Reddit wrote, “We’re all saving space for them. Did I say that right?”
“Looks like they toned it down compared to last year, which is wise,” another user commented.
Another user said: “I’m sure another full press like last year would have annoyed everyone and possibly put some people off seeing the new movie.”
“I can’t go through this again,” a fourth user added, referencing the film stars’ previous “cringeworthy” press moments in 2024.

Previously, speaking to Elle magazine, Cynthia revealed that she had seen people online discussing the “lyrics of Defying Gravity,” the poignant ballad her character sings in the film, and “felt the power of it.”
Meanwhile, Cynthia was visibly moved by the revelation, replying, “I didn’t know this was happening. That’s really powerful. That’s what I wanted.”
