Hugh Jackman reminisces about a hilarious event from the past early in his career.
In a recent appearance on SiriusXM‘S The Howard Stern show, the 57-year-old actor confirmed a speculation by laughing when the presenter asked him if he had wet himself on stage during a performance.
“Good morning everyone!” Jackman teased, confirming that he had indeed peed after “guzzling two liters of water on the advice of a naturopath before the show.” Beauty and the Beastin which he starred as Gaston.
“You can see what’s happening,” says the Deadpool and Wolverinesnoted.
Jackman noted that the unfortunate incident occurred when he had sung Gaston’s first song while carrying the woman playing Belle, “a little bit of piss came out. I’m wearing red tights. I was like, ‘uh-oh.'”
As he reached the song’s climax, Jackman said he had two options.
“I had a choice: you sing that F. I sing it and piss my pants, or I don’t sing it and humiliate myself. So I sang it. And [the urination] it just went.”
He turned his back to the audience when he finished the performance so they wouldn’t see what happened.
“I’m laughing to myself thinking my boot is filled with piss, both boots filled with piss. And somehow I’m standing on stage, 1,500 people, ‘Well, I’m going to get away with this,'” Jackman shared.
But his dresser saw him completely wet as he walked off stage.
“Nothing can embarrass you after that,” he added.
