Timothee Chalamet has refused to deny that his alter ego is rapper EsDeeKid.
The alt-rapper is known for the track LV Sandals that went viral on TikTok and speaks with a Liverpool accent but remains anonymous and always performs in a balaclava.
The rapper released the album, Rebelearlier in the year.
Now some fans are convinced that the man behind the mask is actor Timothee Chalamet as they have pointed out that the Wonka star has spoken openly about his love for hip-hop and that he performed as a rapper named Lil Timmy Tim as a child.
Some people believe that EsDeeKid and Timothee’s eyes look the same, and also believe that the fact that they both have a double ‘e’ in their names is a clue to the mystery rapper’s identity.
When asked about the rumor by Heart FM presenters Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, Timothee replied: “I have no comment on that,” adding: “I have two words on that, all will be revealed in due course.”
When Amanda mistakenly called the childhood rap personality Little Timmy, he laughed and said it “didn’t have the same ring.”
EsDeeKid has not publicly commented on the rumors, but the rapper is set to tour Australia and North America. While Timothee Chalamet is currently starring in Marty Supreme with Gwyneth Paltrow.
In November, the 29-year-old received a Grammy nomination for singing on the album to accompany his role in the Bob Dylan biopic. A complete unknown.
