Anthony Joshua has knocked out YouTuber boxer Jake Paul in an eight-round Netflix heavyweight boxing match.

In the dramatic fight, two-time world champion Joshua struggled to beat his less experienced opponent on Friday evening. Ultimately, Joshua defeated Paul in the sixth round of the heavyweight fight.

Netflix shared the final moments of the fight on social media platform X, showing Joshua throwing back-to-back punches at Paul. However, the final powerful right hand punch proved to be the victory for Joshua, sending his opponent to the ground.

The controversial Netflix-backed fight, which earned a staggering $184 million purse, caused widespread concern within the boxing community.

The critics took issue with the palpable discrepancy between Anthony Joshua, a two-time former world champion, and Jake Paul, who is known as an internet personality turned prizefighter.

During the post-match interview, Joshua said: “It wasn’t the best performance. But the end goal was to get Jake Paul, pin him and hurt him.”

“That was the request beforehand, and that was in my mind. It took a little longer than expected, but the right hand finally found its destination,” the 36-year-old added.

Paul said: “That was fun. I gave it my all. I had a blast. I think my jaw is broken, by the way. But Anthony is one of the best to ever do it. I’ll come back and get a world championship.”

Meanwhile, Joshua also praised Paul for hanging on in the later rounds. Paul previously defeated boxing legend Mike Tyson, 58, in his Netflix debut.
