Leonardo DiCaprio’s viral Golden Globes video from 2026 has finally been explained!
Leo was filmed making and imitating animated gestures to talk to someone far away, while smiling and laughing. The video went viral and people wondered who he was talking to.

While at The Rip red carpet premiere in New York City on Tuesday, January 13, the actress was asked, “What do you think of the viral K-pop Leo video?”
‘Oh, my God. He was talking to me,” she said. “That makes it even funnier.”
According to several lip readers online, the Titanic star said: “I was looking at you with that K-pop thing.” He made some gestures and faces and continued, “You were like, ‘Is that? K-pop?'”
At the Golden Globes, Teyana and Leo were both nominated for their roles in One battle after another. The actress won Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, but Leo lost Marty Spreme‘s Timothee Chalamet in the Best Actor category.
In a new interview after the win, Teyana gushed about working with Leo and Paul Thomas Anderson and then Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in The Rip.
“Oh, my God, it was so busy, busy, busy,” she said Vanity fair. “But in the best way, of course. I think this is a lot, from working with Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio to Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.”
She added, “To see people treat me with so much care and love, it’s like I’ve gone from masterclass to masterclass. … It’s like, can I be the best version of myself because I’m surrounded by the best of the best?”
