The season two finale delivers a shocking ending that fans of Disney+’s fantasy series Percy Jackson didn’t expect at all.
But Walker Scobell, who plays Percy Jackson, says he is relieved after the finale. I definitely feel a lot of pressure being lifted off my shoulders,” the actor told The Wrap.
However, there is season three, the few details of which he must guard, just like in season two. “But at the same time, it’s like you said: Season 3 is a completely — but you know what?”
But it won’t be a tough task, the actor says, as season three will draw most from Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
“I think I’m lucky because – or, not lucky, but Season 3, what we’re doing is basically the book. Because it’s written almost perfectly for an adaptation.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Scobell also discusses his scene with Sally, the great Virginia Kull, in the finale.
“It’s interesting, when I originally read it, I didn’t imagine it that way. I imagined it more as, ‘No, you stay here,’ like you’re taking charge, you know?”
“And then I got there, and it’s interesting how different things can be read from so many different people. I got there and it was so different than I imagined,” he continues.
“I didn’t even realize it, and that kind of got me focused on it in a way, because I didn’t know what to expect. And I feel like I’m doing the best I can when I’m a little bit overwhelmed. I know that sounds weird, but I don’t know how to explain it.”
Percy Jackson and the Olympians can be streamed on Disney+.
