Donald Trump made sharp comments after Stephen Colbert made his conclusion The late show after its 11-year run.
The President of the United States of America took to Truth Social on Friday morning, May 22, and posted a sizzling post celebrating the end of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
He wrote, “Colbert is finally done at CBS.”
“Amazing he lasted this long!” he commented, claiming: “No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person.”
In a bitter tone he added, “You could take anyone off the street and they would be better than this total jerk.”
“Thank God he’s finally gone!” Trump’s post ended.
On Thursday, Stephen said an emotional farewell to his fans and team, saying they were “lucky” to spend “the last 11 years” together.
It is relevant to mention that CBS announced the show’s cancellation in July 2025.
The show’s cancellation sparked widespread criticism from audiences as it came after Stephen commented on the Paramount settlement related to a Donald Trump legal dispute involving 60 Minutes.
Later, CBS insisted that the decision had been made for ‘purely financial’ reasons.
While Thursday’s episode marked the end of the 33-year franchise, Stephen hosted the show for 11 seasons while it was previously directed by David Letterman.
