Margot Robbie has spoken about how fans have the gift of spotting hidden details in the background of the film.
In a resurfaced confessional with the Vogue AustraliaMargot praised fans’ attention to detail, noting how painstakingly everything in the smash hit film was crafted.
Robbie, now a mother of one, said: “Every document or piece of paper in the Pink House – our Barbieland version of the White House – is a cursive word salad.”
“Every piece of mail that Postal Lady Barbie would deliver would be beautifully written scribbles,” she added.
According to her, these creative nuances served multiple purposes.
She even noted, “Such things are so clever, a) because it’s so beautiful to look at, b) it’s silly because it doesn’t make sense, but c) it’s just what you did as a kid.”
“I remember my mother saying I sat there writing pages and pages and pages of beautiful scribbles,” Robbie added.
Finally, to maintain the illusion of a world made of Mattel products, Greta revealed that the books in the film are “Barbie books,” which are “pieces of plastic or don’t open.”
