In 2015, Jay-Z announced his streaming platform Tidal. However, Drake, one of the co-owners, walked out and signed a deal with Apple Music.
The exit caused a lot of drama at the time. But a month later, a feud broke out between Drizzy and Meek Mill after the latter accused him of ghostwriting his songs.
The rap feud was explosive and considered one of the most high-profile in the industry, with the Canadian rapper dropping back-to-back diss tracks, Charged Up and Back to Back.
Now, fans have rewatched the episode, with a caption referencing Drake’s departure from Tidal for Apple Music.
“The exact moment Drake was no longer useful to Jay-Z. A month later, Meek Mill leaked Drake’s reference tracks.”
Several fans participate under the post on Reddit.
“And that probably added fuel to the fire,” one social media user claimed.
Another added, “I didn’t know it was so close to the meek beef. This is all starting to make sense lol. The only confusing thing is that he continued to work with Jay after all of this.”
“Makes sense with Kendrick too. Jay-Z also does the Super Bowl halftime shows, and of course Kendrick got the Super Bowl the same year as the beef. This hate runs deep,” a third claimed.
However, it is relevant to note that this interpretation can often be found on the Internet, but it is unclear whether it corresponds to the confirmed reality.
