Gujranwala: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said on Tuesday that Japan deported a group of 22 men who occurred as a football team after the authorities found their travel documents fake.
A FIA spokesperson said that Malik Waqas, an important suspect in the human smuggling scam, registered a football club under the name ‘Golden Football Trial’.
Waqas, a human trafficking, received RS4 million from each individual to send them abroad through illegal resources.
The individuals were trained to behave as professional football players, the PIA spokesperson said that WAQAS had prepared forged documents, including fake registrations of the Pakistan Football Federation and forged newspapers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The documents wrongly stated that competitions were planned in Japan, the FIA spokesperson added.
The group of 22 men flew from Sialkot International Airport and reached Japan, where the authorities challenge them after they found their documents fake.
In the meantime, the FIA WAQAS arrested and the investigation in this respect. During the interrogation, the suspect confessed that he had previously sent 17 people to Japan in January 2024 with the same method.
Human dealers take new tactics after the authorities have sharpened the investigation at country borders.

In an attempt to combat human trafficking and improve the migration -oriented, the United Nations (UN) in Pakistan formally launched the Pakistan United Nations Network on Migration (UNNM) last month.
The launch meant an important step in the direction of a uniform, collaborative approach to migration views and responded to the interconnected challenges of human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
The move was tailored to international frameworks, including the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and the Global Compact for safe, orderly and regular migration (GCM).
The joint program contributes to national efforts in the field of migration management and administration and the fighting of human trafficking and migrant smuggling with an approach to the entire government and the entire society.
