Liza Minnelli has made shocking statements about the problems her late mother Judy Garland faced in Hollywood.

She says: “They (the press) said she was a bad mother, that she drank too much, took too many pills and ignored her family.”
“Mom spent millions of dollars in rehab and hospitals, hoping they could cure her. She underwent electroshock therapy. Nothing worked. It’s no secret who the perpetrators were.”
She alleged that powerful industry figures, and even her own grandmother, played a role in the star’s addiction, saying: “Industry executives – and, I was told, my grandmother – had poisoned her with ups and downs since she was a child star.”
