FIFA World Cup 2026 has disappointed fans after releasing their new ticket prices.
England fans say they have been “slapped in the face” by FIFA after it was revealed that from next summer they will have to pay £5,000 for the cheapest tickets to watch all the World Cup matches.
The Football Supporters Association’s English Fans Embassy has described the expensive policy as ‘laughable’.
“A game for supporters, loyalty has been thrown out the window and supporters of the participating countries have been completely let down.”
While Football Supporters Europe FSE called the awards a “monumental betrayal” for match fans.
They stated that prices had been set at “excessive levels” and urged FIFA to halt the sales process.
The Football Association FA shared pricing information with England’s Supporters Travel Club ESTC on Thursday evening, December 11, 2025, revealing that if a fan purchased a ticket for every match up to and including the final, it would cost $7,020 (£5,228).
These tickets are the ring-fenced, fixed-price tickets that FIFA had promised to set aside for national associations, known as the participating member association’s PMA allocation, following the controversy over FIFA adopting a dynamic pricing strategy on previous ticket sales.
FSE said that, based on the ticket price information it had, supporting your team from the first match to the final of the 2026 tournament would cost five times as much as the last World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
“We call on FIFA to immediately enter into consultation with all interested parties and review ticket prices and category allocation until a solution is found that respects the tradition, universality and cultural significance of the World Cup, FSE suggests.
For tickets sold in previous windows leading up to last Friday’s World Cup final draw, dynamic pricing applied, meaning prices rise or fall depending on demand.
Additionally, the 2026 World Cup kicks off on Thursday, June 11 in Mexico City, with the final scheduled for Sunday, July 19 in New York/New Jersey.
