Former World Box Champion Ricky Hatton died at the age of 46, reported the News Agency of the British Press Association Sunday.
Hatton was found dead in his house in Hyde, northwestern. Greater Manchester Police said they did not treat death as suspicious.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers were called by a member of the audience to visit Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, today at 6.45 am (0545 GMT) where they found the body of a 46-year-old man. It is currently not considered suspicious circumstances.”
Hatton won world titles in light-cycling weight and good weight and his aggressive style made him one of the most popular British boxers of his generation.
Remarkable opponents, including Kostya Tzyu, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
Hatton was candid about the mental health problems he had endured after his retirement from the Ring.
In July he announced that he returned to boxing in December in a professional match against Eisa Al Dah in Dubai.
The former world champion of Great -Britain, Tyson Fury, paid tribute to Hatton.
“Rip to the legend Ricky Hatton May he ript,” Fury posted on Instagram.
“There will only be 1 Ricky Hatton. This cannot be that young.”
Another former world champion, Amir Khan in Great -Britain, described Hatton on X as a “mentor, warrior and one of the greatest boxers of Great Britain”.
Khan added: “As hunters we say we are strong – we train, we sweat, we take hits, we get up. But sometimes the most difficult fight happens in silence, in the mind.
“Mental health is not a weakness. It is part of being human. And we have to talk about it. We have to contact us. We have to lean on each other.
‘Ricky, thanks for everything. For your fighting, your moments of glory, your grit. Thank you for pushing us and shows us what is possible.
