George Clooney is no stranger to fame. But he shares that it also has a negative side, giving an example to his aunt, Rosemary Clooney.
She was a legendary singer who was popular in the 1950s. He says: ‘I had seen it from my aunt’s point of view [the singer Rosemary Clooney]. She was a big star in Hollywood in the 1950s.”
But when pop culture changed, she was suddenly out of the spotlight. “Then pop music changed and went bankrupt,” he recalls.
In response, George recalls, Rosemary turned to drugs. “She didn’t cope well and lost about thirty years to drugs and drink, while she was quite angry with life.”
Elsewhere in the interview with USA today, George reveals the diva behavior of some actors he saw in his career.
“A little bit of it happens accidentally when people try to make everything fun. There are actors who are literally ‘I only eat green M&Ms.'”
Sharing his example, coming from humble soil, he adds: “I grew up in Kentucky – we try to stay out of the trailers. That’s not the end and be all, [me] in a double wide on set.”
Meanwhile, George is promoting his latest film Jay Kelly.
