Heated rivalry creator Jacob Tierney has shared a major update on the HBO Max series’ second sequel.
During an appearance on the latest episode of the What chaos! podcast, Jacob confirmed that he has not yet started writing the new episode.
“I mean, I’m definitely going to fine-tune everything when I start writing. I’ll have to,” he said.
He further said, “I’ve started my rereading process, where I’m reading a few books. And I know what I’m going to do, but I haven’t started writing yet.”
“I’m actually just trying, it’s a little counterintuitive for me, but I’m trying to take a deep breath and have a little Christmas break,” Jacob continued. “Once I start writing, I have to sort everything out because I get a lot of opinions.”
The 46-year-old Canadian director added that despite the overwhelming success of the first season, the budget for season two will not change.
“We won’t have that much more money to make season two,” Jacob said. “When you make a show for this money, people say, ‘Oh my god, that’s great, do it again!’ Why would anyone want to spend more money if you didn’t do it the first time? Everyone gets paid.”
“We made the show for a reason. We did well with what we had,” he added.
