Jennifer Lopez had some life advice to share with her Las Vegas residents as she remembered feeling “ready to give it all up.”
During her second night Up all night residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Thursday, December 31 Kiss from the Spider Woman star gave a speech to the audience.
In the speech, she mentioned some advice she received after her divorce from ex-husband Marc Anthony in 2014. She hugged the 17-year-old twins she shares with Anthony, Max and Emme Muñiz.
In the Instagram Reel of the speech shared on Thursday, January 1, the singer recalled the first show of her residency that she did ten years ago.
“After the show they came up to me and said: One of them, Max, came up to me and said, ‘Mommy, why don’t you ever wear pants on stage?’ And I thought, ‘Jesus Christ, what a crazy life. This is a crazy life, right? ” she recalled.
She explained the reason and said, “I’m a showgirl and I love to dance.”
“It seemed like a good excuse at the time. He was seven years old. It was fine, but the truth is I love to dance,” she said.
“After my third divorce, I started to get really good at it [dancing]okay?” she said, before adding that she was “ready to give up everything” until a “very wise woman” offered some wisdom.
“My life was a mess,” says the On the floor hitmaker recalled. “I was a first-time single mother with two little three-year-old twins, and then one of my mentors, Louise Hay, said to me, ‘Jennifer, you’re a dancer, right?’ I said, ‘Yes, that’s me.'”
Hay then asked her, “When you learn a dance and the steps are wrong, what do you do?”
She replied, “I’m just going to keep going until I take the right steps.” Hay then told her “that’s it.”
“Always keep dancing,” she told Lopez.
Jennifer Lopz gave the same advice to the audience, saying, “No matter what life throws at you, you dance, and you dance, and you dance. Over and over again. I love you.”
