Jessie J took some time to reflect on a “tough” year amid her health struggles
On December 30, the 37-year-old singer took to her social media account to share a moving reflection on the past year as she reflected on her journey against cancer.
It is pertinent to mention that Jessie announced her cancer diagnosis in June.
“In a world full of ‘all is well, I’m happy, I’m good, life is perfect,’ this time of year for many of us there is sadness, hurt, pain, sadness, heartbreak and reflection and processing, in addition to the good and wonderful or in itself,” she began in her end-of-year note.
Jessie went on to write, “This year has been tough and difficult for all of us in many ways,” she said. “For me personally one of the most difficult but most magical years of my life. Personally and professionally.”
The Price tag The artist further expressed her thoughts, saying that this was the first time she paused her work and that now “all the sadness has come to the surface.”
“So I cry a lot. Writing s*** feels really low, tbh. The lowest I’ve felt in a while. A build-up of stuff just coming to the surface and I let it out,” she continued.
Expressing her emotions, she advised people to let out the suffocating feelings and also shared what not to say when you see someone crying: “Don’t hold it in people. We are not superhuman or meant to be happy and positive all the time. It is healthy and normal to cry, and when someone you love is crying, don’t say ‘oh don’t cry’, say ‘come here.'”
“Sending love to anyone who’s feeling this way right now. There’s no positive ending. I’m just with you. It’s damning sometimes,” she concluded her caption.
