Katy Perry has seemingly confirmed her new romance with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after the two were spotted sharing a passionate kiss aboard her luxury yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.
The pop star, 40, and Trudeau, 53, looked completely at ease as they hugged and kissed on the top deck of her 80-foot ship, the Caravelle. Perry wore a tight black swimsuit, while Trudeau went shirtless and wore only jeans during their sun-soaked outing.
The surprise couple first sparked romance rumors in July after having an intimate dinner at the chic Le Violon restaurant in Montreal, shortly after Perry embarked on her Lifetime’s world tour.
Although the restaurant’s chef Danny Smiles noted there was “no PDA,” the duo exuded romantic energy, reportedly having a deep conversation and personally thanking the kitchen staff.
Their chemistry also turned heads during a walk through Mount Royal Park, where Trudeau grinned widely.
An eyewitness to the hunting moment revealed: “She stopped her boat next to a small public whale watching boat, and then they started kissing. I didn’t know who she was with until I saw the tattoo on the man’s arm, and I immediately realized it was Justin Trudeau.”
A source close to Perry said: “Katy is very interested in him. She says he is a real asset, a high quality man… She likes him a lot. He likes her a lot. I would even say they are in love.”
The insider added, “They’re just so busy and in different cities, so they’re not physically together. But if there’s anyone worth being in a long-distance relationship with, it’s him.”
Trudeau divorced his wife Sophie in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage; they share three children. Perry previously split from her longtime fiancé Orlando Bloom, with sources citing “tensions” after a trip to space as the cause.
