Margaret Cho finally reveals why she turned down the role of ‘Heated Rivalry’

Margaret Cho has revealed the shocking reason why she turned down a role in the film Heated rivalry.

The 57-year-old actress recently appeared on Matteo Lane and Nick Smith’s podcast I never liked youwhere she shared that she turned down a role on the hit TV series “all because of Trump.”

“Last year I got a pilot script for a show that I really loved, but it was filming in Canada, and I was so scared because I was so outspoken about hating ICE and hating this government,” Margaret recalls. “I was like, I’m going to be held at the border and I’m going to be put in ICE detention if I go.”

“And I struggled with it. I had to talk to all these people about it,” she continued. “And I was very angry about it, and I said ‘no.’ And it was a heated rivalry.”

Despite turning down the role, Margaret said she was watching a movie Heated rivalryand added, “I’ve hosted a bunch of re-watch parties, and it’s killing me. It’s killing me, and it’s all because of Trump.”

“The pilot was beautiful and I thought, I want to do this,” the actress also noted.

For those unfamiliar, Heated Rivalry was released on HBO Max on November 28 and 25. Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams starred in the LGBTQ+ hockey series.
