Meghan Markle’s return to acting has been met with disappointment, with insiders describing her performance as ‘rigid’ and ‘wooden’.
The Duchess of Sussex will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming film Make personal friendsstarring Lily Collins, Brie Larson and Jack Quaid.
The film marks Meghan’s return to acting after nearly eight years, marking her first on-screen role since leaving ‘Suits’ in 2017.
However, those on set were less than pleased with her acting skills, with sources close to the production saying her performance has drawn unflattering comparisons.
An insider said seeing Meghan act Kim Kardashian ‘looks like an Oscar winner’.
“There was a lot of curiosity about how she would read on camera after so many years,” another source revealed Radaronline.
“The genuine reaction was one of surprise, but unfortunately ultimately not positive, as the performance came across as rigid and overly aware of itself.”
“There are jokes going around that, in comparison, it’s so wooden that Kim Kardashian’s acting is almost awards-level,” she added.
An insider said that while Meghan has to play herself in the film, she isn’t even “very good at it.”
“Experienced actors and comedians like Larry David can direct themselves in front of the camera, but Meghan just doesn’t have the irony or acting talent to pull that off,” she added.
“She just came across as super wooden and hyper-aware of the cameras – a cardinal sin in big-screen acting.”
