Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Mother argues for Clementia while the Chattered Music Mogul is waiting for the conviction.
According to Page sixJanice Combs wrote a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian as a party of a conviction memorandum and insisted on compassion while her son is confronted with a maximum of 20 years of prison time after his conviction in September 2024.
Diddy was found guilty of two counts of transport to deal with prostitution, but was acquitted on the more serious accusations of sex trade and racketeering. He is held in Brooklyn’s metropolitan detention center since his arrest and could still serve for a number of years.
In her letter Janice admitted her son’s mistakes, but also shared the pain behind them.
“He has made a number of terrible mistakes in his life that I know he recognizes,” she wrote. She described his early trauma, including losing his father at just two years old and his uncle on nine.
Janice, who turns 85 in December, expressed her heartache about the divorce.
“This divorce in the past year, while Sean is locked up, has been unbearably difficult and painful for me and his children. I would like to spend the last few years of my life with my son, Sean.”
The memo of the conviction also included dozens of letters from Diddy’s children and supporters, where his lawyers did not ask for a punishment for longer than 14 months.
The founder of the Bad Boy Record receives his conviction on 3 October.
