Blake Lively has spoken after the majority of her claims against Justin Bladoni were dismissed by a federal judge.
According to a ruling Thursday by Judge Lewis J. Liman on Baldoni’s attempt to end the case before the May 18 trial, 10 of 13 claims Lively filed are dismissed by the court, including harassment, defamation and conspiracy.
The court allowed Lively to pursue a certain set of allegations, including retaliation claims and breach of contract, in court.
In response, Sigrid McCawley, a member of Lively’s legal team, said in a statement: “This case has always been and will always be focused on the devastating [sic] retaliation and the extraordinary steps the defendants took to destroy Blake Lively’s reputation for standing up for safety on set and that is the case going to trial.
“For Blake Lively, the greatest measure of justice is that the people and playbook behind these coordinated digital attacks have been exposed and are already being held accountable by other women they targeted. She looks forward to testifying at trial and continuing to shine a light on this vicious form of online retaliation, making it easier to detect and combat.”
Sigrid clarified that Lively’s “Sexual Harassment” claim will not proceed, not because the defendants did nothing wrong, but because the court ruled that Blake Lively was an independent contractor, not an employee.
It is pertinent to mention that Lively filed the lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024 following the actor and director’s alleged misconduct on the set of ‘It Ends with Us’.
