Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are reportedly facing claims that they owe around $2.1 million to contractors working on their massive New York estate.
The couple purchased several interconnected properties in Lewisboro, New York, in 2018, totaling approximately 110 acres of land.
In 2022, Lively took a first step with the intention of building an “incredibly sustainable” family home on the land. She said they would like to move on and live there with their four children.
The planned home was expected to offer amenities such as a swimming pool, gym and pool house. Approval for construction was given, although the design was later reduced in size.
Reports now claim that construction has stopped. Multiple contractors and subcontractors have reportedly filed liens, saying they have not been paid for work completed.
One of the largest claims is reported to be in excess of $1.35 million, coming from a construction company engaged in major systems work including plumbing, framing and waterproofing. Other reported claims include drainage, structural work and installation services.
Representatives for the couple have not publicly responded to the allegations.
The report comes shortly after Lively settled a separate legal dispute involving her film It ends with us and co-star Justin Baldoni. The case involved claims of defamation and workplace misconduct, which Baldoni has denied.
Previous reports also suggested that the couple had considered moving outside the United States during recent legal and public scrutiny.
