The Spice Girls still ‘trying’ to come on same page as 30th anniversary nears

The Spice Girls are still ‘trying’ to get on the same page as their 30th anniversary approaches

The Spice Girls are still “trying” to find a way to celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary this year, according to Mel C.

Fans had hoped to see the girl group back on stage to commemorate three decades since the release of their debut single Wannabe and rumors of a tour have since been put to rest, but Melanie Chisholm has now insisted the band members are still trying to find a way to honor their legacy.

Mel C said The Telegraph newspaper: “We’re trying to find something that we all agree fits with the legacy we’ve created, but that everyone also feels comfortable with.”

When asked if there will be a plan around the anniversary celebrations in July, Mel replied: “I see what you’re doing there! It’s very difficult for me to speak for all the Spice Girls.”

“All I can say is that I’m very sure that one day there will be something great that the Spice Girls will do, but I don’t know when,” she further said.

It was rumored that the band, consisting of Mel C along with Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Melanie B and Victoria Beckham, were planning to reunite as a five-piece for the first time since they performed a series of shows without Victoria in 2019.

However, tellingly, Mel B insisted the idea had been scrapped HELLO! magazine: “I can tell you it won’t happen. If it does, it will be a shock to me, let’s put it that way. Looking at that (tour) and the feeling it gave me, I was in my element, but there comes a time… I’m 50. You can’t nag everyone to go on tour if they don’t want to. I put that aside when I turned 50.”
