Following Machine Gun Kelly’s fierce criticism of Yungblud’s comments about rising tour ticket prices, the Doncaster-born artist’s team have responded.
On Tuesday, Yungblud posted a video on his Instagram saying that “artists are canceling [concerts] all the time” because ticket sales have become “completely unaffordable.”
Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, didn’t seem to like the comment and clapped back at Yungblud in a now-deleted comment, accusing him of hypocrisy for abandoning his tour because he “couldn’t sell tickets” and “blaming it on mental health.”
Yungblud’s team took control of the escalated situation and hit back at the singer, sharing a statement with TMZ.
Yungblud’s rep said: “Dom hasn’t responded immediately because he’s so busy focusing on his sold-out North American tour and finishing his next album. He really doesn’t have time to take part in this, but we wish MGK all the best.
“Dom’s message was about the growing reality that live music is becoming financially impossible for many young fans. It was never focused on any individual artist.”
They continued: “It’s incredibly disappointing to weaponize someone’s mental health in a public space like this.”
“Dom has always been honest about his struggles and has worked hard to encourage open conversations about mental wellbeing.”
Yunglud’s team also set the record straight about MGK’s claims about the canceled tour, telling the outlet, “There were multiple legitimate factors behind those decisions, both personal and logistical, and to suggest otherwise is simply wrong.”
It is pertinent to mention that Yungblud last year canceled dates of his 2025 North American tour, revealing at the time that his mental health was deteriorating and he was experiencing exhaustion.
