Despite Kanye West making a comeback to mainstream music, dozens of his shows in Europe were canceled.
The reason was simple: his anti-Semitic outbursts in the past.
However, Ye has apologized several times for his hateful rhetoric.
But part of the masses are still unsure about the reliability of his promises.
Yet it seems that the rapper’s concert in Spain is not in danger of being canceled by the government.
According to Fotkaia site about the music industry, the country’s Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, hinted at the possibility.
However, he made it clear that Ye’s anti-Semitic comments were “unacceptable” and “abhorrent.”
But Urtasun says the government has no mandate to regulate private concerts.
This statement sends West’s fanbase into euphoria.
But the organizers can pull the plug if push comes to shove.
Other European countries have similarly axed eleventh-hour shows under mounting pressure.
Nevertheless, West’s appearance at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid on July 30 is still on schedule.
His show, if it takes place, will mark his first performance in Spain in almost two decades.
