Shay Mitchell has laid bare her summer plans with family and revealed why she’s avoiding the beach this year.
In conversation with PEOPLE magazine, the 39-year-old Canadian actress and entrepreneur shared that filming the Baywatch reboot has been keeping her busy lately, but she’ll be taking time for her family vacation.
At the Fox Upfront in New York City on May 11, Mitchell told the outlet, “My summer plans are probably just traveling with my family, honestly.”
“We shoot a lot in LA, and I feel really lucky that I get to do this, so I can put my girls to sleep when I get home for a few nights. But my plans for the summer are probably just getting on a plane and traveling, probably somewhere that doesn’t have a beach,” she explained.
The Pretty little liars The star further admitted that her role in Baywatch will be somewhat affected by her travel plans, joking, “I’ll still have the ripples of the water.”
Mitchell, who welcomed two daughters, Atlas, 6, and Rome, 4, with her longtime partner, Matte Babel, plays Trina in the Baywatch restart. Trina is a lawyer who leaves a large firm to become a full-time lifeguard.
It is pertinent to mention that the Baywatch reboot television series will premiere on Fox in late January 2027 and will be available to stream on Hulu the following day.
