Keith Urban had to cancel the upcoming concert due to health problems

Keith Urban had to cancel his scheduled performance on Thursday evening, October 16, at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina due to strep throat.

The 57-year-old country star received medical advice to rest his voice after symptoms started earlier this week.

The venue released a statement confirming the cancellation: “Keith Urban has been advised by his longtime laryngologist Dr. Gaelyn Garrett, of the Vanderbilt Voice Center, to cancel his performance in Greenville, SC tonight at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena due to laryngitis that began earlier this week.

He has been given complete vocal rest and Dr. Garrett is optimistic that he will be back on stage for his show in Nashville.”

Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will automatically receive a refund. Those who purchased tickets from third-party resellers are encouraged to contact their original point of purchase.

Urban also expressed his regret in a heartfelt message: “Hey Greenville, I’m so so sorry to have to cancel the show…I know all the logistics of going to a concert these days and I’ve never, or any of YOU, taken that for granted. I look forward to getting back there when we can!!!!”

The singer is expected to return to the stage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Friday evening, October 17. His final show of the year will take place on October 31 at the Boots on the Bayou Festival in Gonzales, Louisiana.

Urban recently removed a song from his setlist that was believed to reference Nicole Kidman following their divorce news.
