Katie Price’s visit to a nearby hair salon on Thursday sparked unpleasant accusations of blackfishing after she unveiled a bold new look to her Instagram followers.
The former glamor model, 47, added a classy touch to her style by ditching her signature black straight locks.
But it wasn’t just her voluminous curls that turned heads; she showed off the end result as she posed for a photo on social media alongside hair colorist Dominic Ackah-Amihere, who captioned the post: ‘CUSTOM PIECE FOR WELLA. PS we had 3 minutes to put this on and hide 2 feet of hair.’
At the time Katie reposted the photo for her 2.7 million Instagram followers, she found herself at the center of a serious backlash, with fans commenting on her striking skin tone, the result of a fake tan.
Commenting on the post, a follower snapped, “Even becoming a woman of color now? What’s next!?
A second added: ‘What the hell is going on here?’
A third commented:
‘Why do you look black? all love and respect to Katie! Go ahead, girl, and do what you gotta do!’
A fourth simply added: ‘Black fishing.’
Meanwhile, others had a more positive view of Katie and her new look, with one commenting: ‘I think it was just a dark color that needs to fade!
