Katherine Schwarzenegger said she feels fortunate to experience both motherhood and stepmotherhood, calling it a “blessing.”
The 35-year-old author shares daughters Lyla, Eloise and son Ford with her husband Chris Pratt.
She is also a stepmother to Chris’ 13-year-old son Jack, whom he shares with his ex-wife Anna Faris.
Speak with People magazine Katherine said she has learned a lot from her role as a parent and stepmother. “I have learned so much and continue to learn so much.
Just like parenting, you learn something new every day,” she said. “It’s a blessing for me to be able to fill the role of a parent and also a stepparent.”
The Gift of forgiveness actress added that she is grateful to experience both roles as not everyone gets that opportunity.
However, Katherine also spoke on her podcast BDA (Before, While and After) Baby and said her goal was to help parents feel less alone.
She said: “My goal with BDA Baby is to really provide a community of support and also to have conversations about things so that people feel less alone in their journey.”
The author is also preparing to release a new children’s book titled Cat and Brandywhich will be released next week.
She said she hopes it will comfort children facing fears or challenges and make them feel seen by the main character.
