Deborra-Lee Furness may finally be ready to tell her side of the story.

According to British journalist Rob Shuter, the Australian actress is reportedly shopping for an impressive book about her high-profile divorce from Hugh Jackman earlier this year.

Furness was reportedly spotted in New York City last week meeting with a major publisher to discuss what insiders described as a “bold, emotional memoir about love, identity and starting over.”

“She was just smiling, but it looked serious,” an insider told Shuter. “There were sample pages, lots of notes – it had the energy of a book deal negotiation.”

Friends of the actress claim Furness is keen to ‘reclaim her voice’ after years of being best known as Jackman’s wife. “She was known as Hugh’s wife for years. Now she wants to be known for her truth,” a friend told Shuter.

Furness, 69, has filed for divorce from the Wolverine actor, 57, in May, almost two years after they first announced their divorce. The couple had been married since 1996 and have two adopted children: Oscar, 25, and Ava, 20.

In May, Furness reflected on “the traumatic journey of betrayal” in a candid statement to the newspaper Daily mail about her breakup. “I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, no matter what you use as your guidance, is always working FOR us,” she wrote.

The exes finalized their divorce that same month, reportedly dividing a $387 million real estate portfolio.

Just weeks later, Jackman went public with his new girlfriend, Broadway star Sutton Foster, making their red carpet debut at the premiere of his film. Song sung blue.
