Sir David Beckham took cover when fireworks exploded right in front of him during a bonfire at his home on Wednesday.
The former footballer’s wife, Victoria Beckham, captured the hilarious moment on video as Sir David was shocked when he tried to light off a firework in their small courtyard.
Victoria can be heard warning ‘careful’ and urging ‘don’t get too close’ as Sir David moved closer to the flame. ‘Are you okay, honey? Are you okay? Don’t you like that baby?’ she joked as Sir David jumped out of his skin after the loud bang.
She captioned the Instagram story: “This is how the Beckham’s do fireworks night!
The Beckham family enjoyed a quiet evening at home after a busy week of festivities to celebrate Sir David’s knighthood.
Close friends and family had earlier gathered at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Chelsea, London, to toast the 50-year-old football legend after he received the prestigious honour.
Sir David’s parents, Ted, 77, and Sandra, 76, were present at Windsor Castle to witness him being welcomed by King Charles.
Reflecting on the experience, Sir David admitted it had been ‘an emotional day’, marking a remarkable milestone in his life.
Victoria and their three youngest children – Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14 – took part in the festivities, while eldest son Brooklyn, 26, reportedly did not congratulate his father on earning the lifetime honor.
