Bella Hadid offered the harrowing reality of living with chronic illness and the silent struggle she endured behind her glamorous life.
On Friday, November 14, the supermodel, who has been undergoing treatment for Lyme disease since she was 16, shared two posts on her Instagram Stories discussing her struggles.
On the first slide, she shared a meme that read, “If your chronic illness is chronic illness and someone says ‘it’s always something about you’ like… yeah… you could say the illness is… chronic.”
In the next update, the 28-year-old model re-shared influencer Alexandra Wildeson’s post about the “duality” of chronic diseases.
The post was accompanied by its own message, which read: “The medical fear is sooooo real.”
“Thank you for putting all my thoughts and daily situations into one motion. The truuuuuuth! @alexandrawildeson,” she wrote.
For those unfamiliar, Bella, who is currently dating professional equestrian Adan Bañuelos, was first diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, when she was just a teenager, along with her mother, Yolanda Hadid, and brother Anwar.
Her latest post came in the wake of her health crisis over the past few months. In September, she underwent treatment for Lyme.
Shortly after her visit to the medical facility, Gigi Hadid’s younger sister walked the runway for Saint Laurent during Paris Fashion Week.
That same month, her mother shared her “helplessness” at seeing Bella “struggling in silence.”
