Meryl Streep’s memoir isn’t coming out anytime soon, and The devil wears Prada star voices her thoughts on why she’s not interested.
On Monday, April 21, the Oscar-winning star appeared on Front row of SiriusXM‘s host Andy Cohen to promote her upcoming fashion film sequel.
During the conversation, Andy asked Meryl if she had plans to write a memoir.
“Will we ever get a memoir from you?” Andy asked.
Meryl, who was also accompanied by TThe devil wears Prada 2 costars Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci quickly responded, saying, “No, no.”
Andy joked: “Okay, and you answer that very quickly.”
As for why she isn’t looking forward to writing a book about her life experiences, she explained, “Too boring. Seriously.”
Stanley, who has published three cookbooks to date, agreed after Meryl pointed to her and said, “Yes, trust me.”
But Meryl has enjoyed other celebrities’ memoirs, including Barbra Streisand’s “fabulous” 2023 memoir My Name Is Barbra, which she “of course” loved. Although she did not read, as she noted: “What am I, crazy? I listened to it, which was the only way.”
Meryl reprises her role in the upcoming episode of The devil wears Prada, which will be released in theaters on May 2.
