Miley Cyrus gave some rare insights into her engagement, revealing the ‘special’ place where Maxx Morando popped the question.
In a recent appearance on Good morning America on Tuesday the Flowers singer enthusiastically showed off her ring and revealed that her personal and professional lives are “perfectly aligned.”
“I am not easy to surprise, because I like to be in control of every situation, and I completely surrendered,” Miley said, recalling her proposal. “I had actually never been to Japan, which I did on purpose. I wanted one place in the world that could be my special place that I had saved for me.”
The three-time Grammy-winning artist went on to say, “Me and Maxx have been together for four years, and it’s very clear how much drastic growth I’ve had in those four years.
“You just want to dream as big as you can, and you want to have someone by your side to always tell you, ‘You can do it,’” she said.
News of Miley and Maxx’s engagement first broke on December 1, when the couple stepped out for the world premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash in Los Angeles, with Miley flashing a diamond ring to confirm the news.
Cyrus was also spotted wearing her engagement ring around mid-November, according to Deux Moi. She was also seen wearing her diamond ring in the photos of her 33rd birthday post on Instagram on November 23.
Shortly after news of their engagement broke, Miley spoke to People while promoting the new movie Avatar: Fire and Ash, featuring her song Dream as One.
“The detail I can share is that for us, our privacy and the fact that we kept it small was something that I’m surprised I was actually able to have more choice in,” she said of her engagement. “I think it also comes from being older, being more protective of what I’m open to sharing.”
