Emily in Paris fans were surprised after seeing Mindy and Alfie together in the show’s trailer.
‘This is nice, but there is a lot [fans can expect when the season is out]” commented Ashley Park, who plays Mindy.
She promised that “there will be a lot of context” that will be provided in season 5, which premieres on Netflix on December 18.
Ashley also shared her thoughts on the arc and what it felt like filming it with Lucien Laviscount, who plays Alfie.
“What’s nice is that this feels like it came out of left field, but also from Lucien [Laviscount] is one of my best friends on the show,” she noted. So we always laughed because we like to hang out, but we don’t have any scenes together. That really made it fun this year.”
She went on to praise the show’s genre-bending storylines, saying, “I would say the show continues to surprise me. I didn’t see Mindy’s storylines coming in season 5. Even as the first photos of the season were released, I remember all the things we did.”
“I feel like I have to be in eight different genres of shows in one. What more can you ask for? So I never know what to expect,” she said.
“I just didn’t expect it anymore. But even when we go to Venice for two weeks of filming, it feels like a pinch moment. They really keep us on our toes,” she added.
