Ed Sheeran praises Taylor Swift in a latest interview.
The 34-year-old singer attended a recent interview for The Hollywood Reporter’s Chatter Awards podcast and talked about his first connection with the “Ophelia” singer.
Ed remembers asking Swift if she “wants to write a song someday, I’m there,” during an opening set for Snow Patrol in Nashville.
“I knew she knew my music,” Sheeran added.
“Then we met, and then we wrote, and then I don’t remember,” the singer continued, adding that “the duo is clearly” of the opposite sex, and we come from different countries and cultures, but I feel very intertwined with her creatively.
This is because Swift previously praised Ed for his friendship and experience in the arts.
Swift previously told Rolling Stone for a 2017 cover, “He’s the James Taylor to my Carole King and I can’t imagine a time when he wouldn’t be.”
This comes amid a reported wedge between Swift and Ed. For those who don’t know, Swift released her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, just a few weeks after Sheeran released his eighth studio album, Play, which immediately hit streaming platforms and performed better. This shocked the Sapphire hitmaker and caused his team to take quick action to come up with a new plan to promote his release.
